Spruce Tree Learning Centre was created in order to meet children and families where they are at in their academic journey. I believe that children are capable of developing the skills necessary to be successful in school and in life. It takes time, appropriate strategies, interventions, and empathy.
I have had the privilege of working in two amazing professions: Teaching and Pediatric Nursing. I am currently teaching in the Faculty of Education at Queen’s University and have previously worked as a Special Education Teacher, Classroom Teacher, Educational Consultant, Clinical Coordinator and as a Pediatric Oncology Nurse. Working with students and families over the past twenty years has taught me the meaning of bravery, vulnerability and determination.
Children are resilient. Families are resilient.
